2,755 billionaires worldwide for "The Richest in 2021" - that's 660 more super-rich than the year before. This means that last year a new one was "born" approximately every 17 hours billionaire. The United States tops the list of the incredibly rich with 724 billionaires, followed by China with 698 billionaires, including Hong Kong and Macau. Germany (136 billionaires) it is in fourth place ahead of Russia. In the case of the latter, however, the usual term is oligarch - of which the country has 118 examples. Very few super-rich live in South America (85) or Africa (16). Germany's top 3 are made up of Aldi (Beate Heister, Karl Albrecht Junior and family), Dieter Schwarz (Kaufland/Lidl) and Susanne Klatten (heiress of industrialist Herbert Quandt).
