The Đakovo embroidery

In summertime, Đakovo celebrates its long-standing and rich tradition presenting three different aspects of Slavonia’s cultural tradition, integrated into in a single event in July: folklore, which the visitors can enjoy within numerous music programs; gastronomy, the highlights of its diversity being the famous fish stew, čobanac (shepherd’s stew) and Đakovo kulen; and the horse breeding tradition, its splendor presented in the equestrian competitions at the Đakovo hippodrome.

This year, all lovers of Slavonia’s and Baranja’s cultural heritage will once again be able to enjoy thousands of folk costumes, music, dances and customs all of which are a great source of pride for this region. They will all take part in the colorful and merry festive procession.
