Dan Europskog sela roda Čigoč - CroMapsIt may be hard to believe, but the small village of Čigoć has more winged inhabitants than human ones. Čigoć has a population of 120 people and around 200 storks, which are regarded as permanent residents of the village. Due to their harmonious cohabitation, Čigoć was proclaimed the First European Village of Storks. To celebrate this, a manifestation is now organised, within which the visitors can take a ride on a tour boat or a horse carriage, take part in a cycling race or take a tour of Lonjsko polje (the Lonja Range). Those not so keen on the said activities can enjoy concerts and a fine selection of food specific to the region. Come and find out for yourself what life is like in the village the storks have chosen as their home. /Text source: Croatian National Tourist Board/
