Summer nights in Rijeka

During the summer months, the squares, streets and terraces of Rijeka are turned into theater stages. Popular town locations, but also places that the citizens of Rijeka themselves find it difficult to envisage as a possible stage for actors and theatre props, are for a few weeks turned over to artists of a widely diverse styles of musical and scenic expression. The Festival program comprises everything, from classical drama productions, premieres of more recent works for drama theatre and concerts of classical music, to street theaters and concerts of pop stars.

One of the crucial parts of the Festival is probing into the contemporary relations between the industrial architecture and theatre, which is why some of the productions are staged in the premises of old industrial plants.
