The Upper Town of Zagreb, its old town core and the national political and administrative centre, and downtown Zagreb, representing a broader centre of the city, are abundant with centuriesold sites - the driving force behind the cultural life. There are countless facilities that seem to have been built for high art, especially music. Keeping that in mind, the organisers of St. Mark’s Festival decided to use all these concert and sacral facilities to provide the residents of Zagreb and their guests with a few days of virtuosic music.
