Days of the Samobor Custard Slices

In addition to its Carnival, Samobor is also popular among gourmets for its homemade custard slices - delicious cake made of flaky pastry and delicate cream. What makes Samobor custard slices special is the fact that they are served warm rather than cooled like everywhere else. During the celebration of the Days of Custard Slices, the local pastry shops will serve this pastry which, according to the local custom, opens all doors. In other words, should you have a problem or a disagreement with someone, give them a custard slice and believe it, the locals say, everything will be forgiven. The gates of Samobor are wide open to you.
