Anniversary of the peasants’ revolt

Back in 1573, the peasants of Hrvatsko Zagorje led by Matija Gubec, revolted against the oppression by their feudal lords. This revolt is remembered as one of the most important events in the history of the area and is celebrated with numerous manifestations. One of them takes place at the Museum of Hrvatsko Zagorje, which is housed in the manor of the Oršić family, built in 1756.
